It's Finally Here!

The moment we wait for all year is finally here!  Sale-a-Bration and the Occasions Catalog went live this morning. (yeah!)  As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I have been able to order and play with all my new stampin' goodies since December 1st.  There are so many fun new sets in both of these new collections it's really hard to pick a front runner.   But I do have a favorite and it was my favorite from the moment I first opened the Occasions Catalog.   

I hate coffee.  I LOVE tea.  And I am a total sucker for anything with tea or teapots.So it should come as no surprise that the first new stamp set for me was the "A Nice Cuppa' set.  I love all the stamped images but I am totally in love with the matching dies.  And the charms.  And the matching Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack.  I love it all.  

This was a quick creation late last night for the first Mojo Monday Sketch of the year.  It came together super quickly using the sketch and the Have a Cuppa DSP and I love how it turned out.  (please forgive my shadowy photo, I busted a light bulb right before I took the pics!)  Here is the sketch that inspired my card:

Mojo Monday 418 and HYCCT1506

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together? I was able to combine this weeks Mojo Monday sketch with yesterdays Hope You Can Cling To Challenge and I love the way it turned out!  Yeah me! 

The HYCCT1506 challenge was to use a trio of hearts and here is the Mojo Monday sketch that inspired my card:

I knew before I started working on my card that I wanted to replace the stars in the Mojo Monday sketch with hearts to fit the HYCCT challenge and I knew I wanted to use Melon Mambo and Black.  The rest just came together, starting with the sentiment.  I thought "Sending Good Thoughts Your Way" was a great positive message of support for someone facing cancer treatments and if you look closely you can see my printed Designer Paper hearts do the same. I love the largest heart with "hello beautiful" front and center.

 

Not finding any ribbon or twine in Melon Mambo that I liked I came across this retired pom-pom trim in my stash.  I used red-line tape to mimic the shape of the chevron stripes to adhere the trim...LOVE IT!  My card seemed a little heavy on the left hand side so the candy dots were added to help balance the weight on my card front.  A little more of that inspirational DSP for my envelope liner and we are ready to mail!

Mojo Monday 416 with Among the Branches

I was on the fence for the longest time with this stamp set and I finally caved.  And I'm glad I did.  It has been seeing a lot of ink lately, most recently for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch. 

Rich Razzleberry is one of my favorite colors to work with and I Iove it paired with Whisper White and Old Olive in the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper.  It says Fall but more as a subtle transition from summer rather than the bold oranges, yellows and browns that typically scream Fall.

Merry Mojo Monday

Yesterday was a rare ugly rainy day in SW Florida, the perfect kind of day for stamping!  I started playing around with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch and managed to create a card that also worked for this weeks Merry Monday challenge. 

This is the first time I have played along with the Merry Monday Challenge. This weekly challenge blog runs all year long and is all about Christmas 52 weeks of the year.  This weeks challenge was to use Holly on your card.  The Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper had me covered there and this is the Mojo Monday sketch that inspired my card:

 Truth be told, I am not a huge fan of this paper pack but I was bound and determined to change my mind.  I kept playing with the other patterns in the pack and came up with this second card that also fits the Mojo Monday sketch. 

Okay, I have to admit those jolly Santa's are pretty stinkin ' cute.  And so are the little deer that I have been seeing all over Pinterest.  (also part of this Designer Series Paper Stack)

Mojo Monday Sneak Peek

It's been a while since I have had the time to participate in a Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge but all my new Holiday Catalog stamps and papers have been calling my name begging me to come play with them.  Because I want the entire catalog (yes, it is that good!) I had to break up my orders into seasons since I can't have it all at once.  (insert sad face here)  So, first up is my favorite new Halloween set, Hall-o-Ween Treats.  Love this super cute owl and the very Harry Potter Sorting Hat-esc witches hat.  Here is my take on this weeks sketch:

As you can see I decided against the banner across the middle as I really didn't think my card needed anything else to clutter up the front and take away from the focal point.  That awesome Halloween glitter inside the shaker was the inspiration for my color choices (more on that in a minute) and I love the way my colored stars in both the hat and the background paper tie it all together.  (Very clever of me if I do say so myself) 

You may also notice that my owl has some spooky green googlie eyes.  These were an awesome find at my local craft store and I think they give him so much more personality.  They come 10 to a pack and also come in blue and orange.  I can't wait to see what my blue eyed owl will look like! 

I knew the minute I saw that sparkly chunky glitter that I had to create a shaker card.  The glitter was from the Halloween section of the same store and came in three different color combinations. ( I have a feeling I will be going back for the other two)

Mojo Monday 366

Phew.  I made it just under the wire to post this week's Mojo Monday card.  I know I promised more WCMD photos, and I will get to those a little later this weekend, but I wanted to get his one posted before the deadline.  Here is my card:

This was an extremely rare occasion for me in that I did not use any Stampin' Up! products in my card!  (the horror!) BUT, in my defense, I wanted to stick with the theme of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this stamp set has been sitting around in my craft room for quite some time and had never seen ink.  It was long overdue for some action and that bra image is just too stinkin'cute.  I found this SEI paper in my stash which was the perfect shade of pink, don't you think?  (I did use a Stampin Up die, momento ink and SU Black Embossing powder...does that count, lol?)
