Happy December and welcome to our last Blogging Friends Blog Hop of 2017! This month we are all sharing Holiday and winter projects that will hopefully inspire you to give some hand made kindness this Holiday season!
I LOVE pretty boxes and bags and I love to find inexpensive little gifts and re-package them to dress them up for gifting. I found these HUGE Bath Bombs at Bath & Body Works and although they would probably fill out the toe of the stocking quite well I wanted to repackage them and dress them up a little. (and don't you just love the fact that they say Naughty on them?)
The best part is the shape of box creates a star at the top! How festive and Christmassy is that?! I found the tutorial to make a much smaller version from fellow Demonstrator Julie DiMatteo at The Paper Pixie. You can find Julie's version HERE. My bath bomb required a much larger version so I tweeked the measurements until I was happy with the size.
Julie has a fantastic tutorial on her Blog but if you are looking for the larger version here are the measurements for my super-sized Bath Bomb Star Box:
- Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper - 10.5" x 9"
- With the long side against the base of your trimmer score at 2", 4", 6", 8" and 10".
- With the short side against the base of your trimmer score at 2" and 5.5"
- With the long side against the base of your trimmer score only down to the first horizontal score line on the tallest (top) sections at 1", 3", 5", 7", and 9"
- Line up your Envelope Punch Board at the 3.5" mark (it should line up with your horizontal score line) and punch on each folded seam.
- Cut bottom tabs up to score line and cut away 1/2 inch bottom section.
- Tape side tabs using Tear Tape and adhere bottom tabs using liquid Mono Adhesive.
- Pinch top score lines to create star shape.
- Add ribbon and a pretty tag!
Nikki is up next, but please check out all the Holiday inspiration from all my Blogging Friends along the Hop!
Have a very Merry Christmas and remember to give some handmade kindness this year!
