The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here! The new 2017 Holiday catalog from Stampin' Up! goes live TODAY and my Blogging Friends and I have another Blog Hop for you! We will be sharing some of our favorites from the new Holiday catty and hopefully inspire you to get started on your Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas stamping projects!
As Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, we have had the ability to pre-order and play with all the new products for the last month. If you are a Pinterest or Splitcoast surfer you may already have a few favorites of your own but today I hope you take a few minutes to check out all the stops along the Hop...you may just see something else that needs to go on your Wish List! You should have arrived here from Rick's Blog but if not that's okay, a complete list of all the stops along the Hop are below. Now on to some Holiday Cheer!
For my first project I created a card and matching treat for Halloween using the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper
All of my projects today use the same set from the Holiday Catalog, Merry Cafe. This versatile stamp set is a companion set to the super popular Coffee Cafe in the annual catalog. I love that it covers everything from Halloween and Fall to Christmas and New Years and it is versatile enough to use for everyday occasions and even Valentines Day!
I love taking a simple, inexpensive item and packaging it up to look like something really special. These Spiced Hot Apple Cider Packets are just over $2.00 for a pack of 12. (that's less than $0.20 each!) and they are super easy to dress up and look pretty. (Cutting and scoring directions will follow at the end of this post)
My favorite version of my trio of projects today is by far my Fall Apple Cider version. This one reminds me of Fall in New England...cable knit sweaters, apple picking, hay rides, leaf peeping, pumpkin patches, cider donuts and of course hot apple cider! As a New England to Florida transplant, this time of year is when I miss home the most.
I am shaker card obsessed lately and I had an aha moment when I remembered that the Tree Builder Punch had this tiny apple in it and I could make my own apple shaker filling! Love it!
The sentiment on the inside of this one is from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and it is the perfect sentiment for my spiced Apple Cider packets, don't you think?
Last but not least is a Christmas/Winter version but instead of Apple Cider we have Hot Chocolate! What a great neighbor, Secret Santa or classroom gift! Is there anything better on a cold snowy day than a cup of hot chocolate by the fire? No chance of snow here in SWFL, I'm going to have to head back home to Massachusetts for that.
It is difficult to see in the photo but the whipped cream topping was stamped and embossed with white embossing powder for a little added texture. The cups on all of today's projects were gently curved with my bone folder and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals to give my cup some dimension and make them look a little more realistic.
So, are you ready to make some too? As promised here are the directions...super quick and easy!
Treat Holder Directions:
All that is needed to make the drink treat holder is a piece of 4.25 x 9.5 card stock in the color of your choice. (you can get two treat holders out on one piece of card stock) Finished size is 4.25 x 4.25.
Card Stock:
- 4.25 x 9.25 - Score at 0.5, 0.75, 5.0, 5.25
- 4 x 4
Designer Series Paper:
- 3 7/8 x 3 7/8
Important: When gluing down the 4 x 4 square to the front of the treat holder leave about a half inch adhesive-free zone on the bottom. This will allow you to tuck the front flap up underneath the card stock layer to hold the treat holder closed. Use a few glue dots or snail adhesive to hold your drink packet in place. If you wish to line the inside of your treat holder those pieces would also be cut to 4 x 4.
Thanks for sticking with me for this super long post today! All of my customers should have their Holiday Catalogs in hand by now but if not please let me know and I will pop one in the mail to you! Now lets see what the rest of my Blogging Friends have in store for you today!
