The first day of a new month is always a special treat because it starts with my Blogging Friends and our monthly Blog Hop. This month is no exception as my Blogging Friends have not only been mixing up a bunch of LOVE for you this month but we have another special guest blogger with us today...Tami White! Tami has been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 2003 and is one of our Million Dollar Achievers. AND, she is from my home state of Massachusetts which makes her even cooler. So, please make sure you follow along on the rest of the hop to catch all of the Love/Valentine awesomeness from my Blogging Friends and Tami too!
My Project this month is a combination on the Lift Me Up bundle and the Sealed With Love Bundle, both from the Occasions catalog. While our theme this month was "Anything Love", I went with a traditional red and white for Valentines day today but really this project would look great in any color combination for any occasion. It was soooo much fun to make I have a feeling you just may see another one of those color combos in the very near future.
How stinkin' cute is this?! I have wanted to make this 3D hot air balloon for awhile now and the introduction of the Lift Me Up stamp set and matching dies was the perfect excuse. I used the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack for both my hot air balloon and matching card. The balloon was pretty simple to make with a little help from my Silhouette Cameo. (I LOVE this machine!)
I purchased the cut file from one of my favorite sites, SVG Cuts. If you have a cutting machine that is SVG friendly, you can find the file HERE. It went together pretty quickly and was a lot of fun to make.
My matching card is a gate fold that has a cut out of the balloon image centered across the front panels and is kept closed by the belly band around the front. The balloon was die cut in real red card stock and backed with whisper white panels. It looked a little too flat to me so I cut another balloon out of basic black and paper pieced a few of the cut out images for a little extra texture and color.
The balloon is actually mounted on the inside of the card and popped up with a double stack of stampin' dimensionals so it pops up above the front panels. The small balloon and the Love is in the Air sentiment are both heat embossed with Versamark and white Stampin' Emboss powder.
As a side note, I will apologize for the lousy photography today. I have ordered a light box that should be here by the end of the week. In the meantime, since most of my photos are taken late at night, we will have to deal with shadows and lousy lighting. My stampin' companion didn't offer any advice on that subject...
One more thing before I sign off and have you heading over to Jenny's blog. I hope you all will be tuning in on Sunday to see my Pats win their 5th Superbowl!
Thanks for stoppin' by today and please check out all of the LOVEly projects my Blogging Friends have cooked up for you this month!
