Welcome to the Blogging Friends Blog Hop
WhooHoo! I Am sooooo excited to be joining the Bloggin Friends Blog Hop! As usual I am a little late to the party but better late than never, right? Who are the Blogging Friends’? Until a few months ago, we were a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators located all across the U.S. and Canada who had never met before. Well, actually, we still haven’t met yet (in person). . . But, through our common bond of Stampin’ Up! and a shared love of papercrafting we have created a fun new blog hop!
Please join us on the 1st of every month to see what wonderful things we have created for you!
In case you’ve never ‘done’ a blog hop before, it’s really easy. At the bottom of this post, you’ll see a "continue" image and when you click on it, you’ll be taken directly to the next participant in the hop. Keep clicking on that image at the bottom of each blog post, and you’ll hop through all of the participating blogs, back to where you started – and you’ll see all of the amazing projects created for your inspiration! You won't want to miss a stop, I promise! Of course, if you want to "hop" around at your own leisure, the individual links are also listed.
This month we are featuring whatever our current favorite stamp set is. Well, that was a tough one because I have several favorites right now (and that list is forever changing) but the one that seem to be getting the most ink lately is Balloon Celebrations from the Occasions Catalog. And who doesn't love balloons?
My youngest son Christopher turned 19 this past week (yikes!) and I needed to come up with something to celebrate his last year of teenage-ness. I have had this idea rattling around in my head for awhile now and this was the perfect excuse to get it out of my head and onto paper where it belongs. I love a made from the heart, hand stamped card as much as the next guy but I am a total sucker for all things 3D and gifty.
My lollipop balloon bouquet came out a little more juvenile than I would have liked for my 19 year old but I had the pail on hand and I was in a matchy-matchy mood at the time. It looks very Pool Party-ish in the photo but in person it really is really more on the Mint Macaron side. Although the Balloon Celebrations set takes center stage I actually used several stamp sets and dies for this project. The large "Make a Wish" Balloon in the back is from the Celebrate Today stamp Set and the matching Balloons Framelits Dies. (which are available as a bundle in the annual catalog on page 102). The "Make a Wish" sentiment is from the Party Wishes Stamp Set. (on page 5 of the Occasions catalog). And last but not least, my 19 was created with the Number of Years stamp set and the matching Large Numbers Framelits Dies. (also available as a bundle on page 10 of the Occasions catalog)
I went all monochromatic matchy matchy on my card as well. (My Mint Macaron stamp pad must have been left out on my table and I was too lazy to get up, lol!) The Designer series paper I used for my card is a combination of sheets from two different packs in the Occasions catalog...Birthday Bouquet and It's My Party. I used the Party Wishes stamp set again for the Happy Birthday sentiment, popped up one more balloon and added some Mint Macaron Enamel Dots to finish it off.
Here is a picture of Chris enjoying a piece of Birthday Flan (his favorite thing on the planet besides ice cream) that was made by one of my stampers! Thank you again Diiana! (He would have a fit if he knew I posted his picture on my blog so mum's the word, okay?)
I had so much fun with this project and I am so happy to be hopping with the Blogging Friends! Please continue on the hop and check out all the awesomeness from my fellow bloggers. You won't be disappointed!
Thanks for stoppin' by!
PS: When this post goes live I will be with 5 of my besties along with another 400 crafty friends I haven't met yet in Atlanta at the All Things Silhouette Conference! We booked this event the day it was announced because we tried to get in on the first one that was held in November 2015 and it sold out before we got our act together. At the time, I didn't realize how close it was to the Stampin' Up! On Stage Event in SLC. SO, a choice had to be made and I opted for Atlanta. I will be sharing posts and pics from the ATS Conference over on my Facebook Page so please take a minute and take a look!
