I have a confession to make. I can't watercolor and I really envy those who can. I have tried. I have taken classes. I have watched You Tube video after You Tube video. I have no sense of light or shadows or shading and it comes out one big muddled mess. So, what's a girl to do when you have a super cute little chick that begs to be colored? You reach for a stamp.
My super cute little chick (from the FREE Sale-a-Bration set Honeycomb Happiness) needed some color so I reached for one of the more solid images in the Work of Art Stamp set from the annual catalog. I inked it up, stamped off once and stamped over my little chick image for just the right amount of color and variation. (I was pretty proud of myself for this one) The chick is actually stamped once in Archival Black ink in a solid piece of whisper white and then stamped again on a piece of scrap paper. I added Blushing Bride Ink to the scrap and fussy cut my chick (minus the feet) and adhered right over the first stamped image. I colored the beak and the feet with my Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker and my little chick was good to go.
I used the new Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack from the Occasion mini for my card. This stack is an awesome 6 x 6 collection of all kinds of flowery, Valentiney goodness with shades of Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Crumb Cake and just a hint of Garden Green.
I hope you liked my little watercolor hack today and thanks for stoppin' by!
