The first time I sat down with my Occasions Catalog I totally overlooked the Bear Hugs Bundle. The second time around it caught my attention but I didn't even put in on my wish list. I thought it was too cutsey for me now that my boys are older. But then I saw a Fathers Day card made with the fish, and then another that was made with the mom and baby bear together. It soon moved to the top of my list and I have been having fun with it ever since. Here is my latest creation with this versatile set:
The Designer Series Paper in that beautiful Mint Macaron stripe is from the Birthday Bouquet pack from the Occasions catalog as is the tiny pastel dots. This is a super quick and super cute baby card with a little help from the B.Y.O.P. set for the sentiment. And don't forget the mint macaron enamel dots also from the Occasions catalog.
Time to shake it up a bit (no pun intended) and take a break from all the pastels! When I broke into my Love Blossoms Paper Stack my Cups & Kettle dies were sitting out on my craft table and this is what happened:
I haven't made a shaker card since my "To You and Yours" Shaker Project Kit Class back in October and I love the way this turned out! This paper stack is a 6x6 stack that has 48 pages...4 each of 12 double sided designs. That is 24 different patterns to play with! The color pallet is predominately Blushing Bride and Rose Red but there is also Crumb Cake and a little bit of Garden Green thrown in for variety.
This would make a great Valentines Day Card for a friend or teacher, maybe along with a gift of some tea. The "You are Tea-riffic" sentiment at the bottom is Valentiney without being too mushy.
All of the products used to make this are from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog and the Annual Catalog and can be found in my online store (just click the Shop Now button in the sidebar) or by clicking on any one of the links below.
We all scream for Ice Cream! My youngest son Christopher is a health conscious, food label reading, six days a week gym junkie. Except when it comes to ice cream. It is his biggest weakness. Which comes in handy when I want him to do something for me. All I have to do is hold the chocolate moose tracks for ransom and he becomes the most agreeable teenager on the planet. The new Sale-a-Bration set Honeycomb Happiness not only has the cute chick you saw HERE, HERE and HERE but it also has a balloon and an ice cream cone and let's face it, who doesn't love ice cream?
I am in love with the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series paper in the new Occasions catalog and the ice cream print in this pack pairs perfectly with this stamp image. Just look at all those sherbet-like pastel colors! Did you notice that little green ball of puffy awesomeness for the top of my mint cone? That is one of our new Honeycomb Embellishments that is specifically meant to pair with this FREE set.
What a fun card to help celebrate any occasions with the ice cream addict in your life!
It's a very chilly day here in SW Florida...52 when I woke up this morning and a high of 65 today. Now that may not seem cold to most of you and for this New England transplant I am loving the break from 90 degree humidity. The problem is you can't get away from 60 degrees inside or out. I have lived in Florida for over 11 years now and I have never turned the heat on in my house. Not once. So when the outside temp dips into the 40's at night it takes a while for the inside temp to recover. So I sit here typing with my hands wrapped around a cup of hot tea trying to keep warm. I think this means my New England blood ain't as thick as it used to be and I am officially a Floridian.
Anyway, this sunny and 60 weather got me thinking of spring which makes me think of Easter. The little chick from the FREE Sale-a-Bration set Honeycomb Happiness makes me think of Easter too. And the soft pastel prints in the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper make me think of Spring. And Easter. Are you seeing a pattern here? Here is my card that was inspired by all this Easter Springiness.
My eggs were created by stamping the chevron pattern from the Work of Art stamp set onto a piece of scrap paper, cutting an egg shape with my Oval Framelits Dies and trimming the top along the stamped chevron line with my paper snips. The chicks were colored in with another stamp from the Work of Art set. I have used this trick before on this same image, you can read about that little tip HERE.
Quick and easy and oh so cute! The supply list is below, remember you can choose the Honeycomb Happiness set as your FREE item with any $50 merchandise purchase from my online store.
Do you ever have one of those crafting moments when the Mojo is flowing and a plan comes together exactly as you had envisioned? I know, it doesn't happen often so when it does you need to pat yourself on the back and do a little happy dance. That is exactly what happened with this card. I love everything about it...the Tea Cup Die from the A Nice Cuppa Bundle, the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper with the pleat detail (this beautiful blue floral is my favorite sheet in the pack) and last but not least the little Have A Cuppa Charms. Card making perfection if I do say so myself.
I was so proud of this one I decided to spend a Friday night patiently pleating Designer Series Paper until 3:00 am so I could include them in a demo swap I was participating in. With only a few hours of sleep, I braved the 87 degree Florida sunshine to get them postal in plenty of time to make the swap deadline as they were headed to snowbound Wisconsin.
I carefully placed each one in a clear envelope and along with my 2nd swap card (I reserved 2 spots in this one) and carefully packed them and protected them from the elements for their journey. But they had other plans. Apparently, my cards are used to the Florida sun and did not take too kindly to the Wisconsin winter. They made it all the way to Oak Creek Wisconsin only to promptly turn around and head back home...just like Sheldon and Bozeman, Montana.
I have no idea why the USPS thought it was a better idea to turn them around rather than complete the journey when they were so close. And I am sad. Sad that they did not make it to their destination to be swapped with other Stampin' Up Demonstrators who did their own happy dance. Sad that they will not complete the final leg of their journey to unknown demo destinations to be admired by the masses. Sad that I will not receive and be able to share some beautiful (happy dance) creations by my fellow demo's from around the country. And sad that the USPS did not understand the magnitude of their decision and how many stampers that single decision would affect.
I guess it was just not meant to be. I am going to make it my personal quest to recruit as many US Postal workers as possible and introduce them to stamping so they understand the trickle down effect of their re-routing decisions. But until I accomplish that goal, never again will I leave the fate of my future (happy dance) swaps in the hands of the United States Post Office. :(
Today's post is a quick share of one of my Sale-a-Bration and Occasions Kick Off Party Cards. I would love to take credit for this cute and simple little chick but this was a shameless CASE (Copy And Share Everything) from the very talented, fellow demo Linda Callahan.
How cute is she? I confessed my lack of water coloring skills the other day with this same stamped image and I even gave you a tip on how I overcame that obstacle with a solid stamp. Linda came up with another clever idea and used the balloon overlay from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set to color in her chicks chubby little belly. So smart and so cute (you can see Linda's care HERE)
I am in love with the images, sayings and the matching punch from the Balloon Celebration Bundle and I will be sharing a really fun project I am working on using this set sometime next week! (It needs to make it's way to it's recipient before I can share) And don't forget you can get the Honeycomb Happiness Stamp Set that includes this cute little chick for FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration.
Balloon Celebration Bundle #140810
That's all for today, enjoy your Friday and thanks for stoppin' by!
This past weekend I held my Sale-a-Bration and Occasions Catalog Kick Off Party. What a fun day of stamping with friends but it took me two days to recover! We used all new stamps, dies and accessories from the new catty's and this is one of my favorite projects from the day:
The Bear Hugs stamp set and matching framelits dies are just so stinkin' cute and it is one of those sets that can cover any occasion. The bear images and all the little extras in this set have got you covered from Valentines Day to Fathers Day and everything in between.
Bear Hugs Bundle #140823
Did you notice those beautiful glittery hearts? That is our new Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. Love, love, love. Glittery goodness without the mess.
I'll be back tomorrow with another card form this past weekend. I hope you will be back tomorrow too and thanks for stoppin' by!
I have a confession to make. I can't watercolor and I really envy those who can. I have tried. I have taken classes. I have watched You Tube video after You Tube video. I have no sense of light or shadows or shading and it comes out one big muddled mess. So, what's a girl to do when you have a super cute little chick that begs to be colored? You reach for a stamp.
My super cute little chick (from the FREE Sale-a-Bration set Honeycomb Happiness) needed some color so I reached for one of the more solid images in the Work of Art Stamp set from the annual catalog. I inked it up, stamped off once and stamped over my little chick image for just the right amount of color and variation. (I was pretty proud of myself for this one) The chick is actually stamped once in Archival Black ink in a solid piece of whisper white and then stamped again on a piece of scrap paper. I added Blushing Bride Ink to the scrap and fussy cut my chick (minus the feet) and adhered right over the first stamped image. I colored the beak and the feet with my Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker and my little chick was good to go.
I used the new Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack from the Occasion mini for my card. This stack is an awesome 6 x 6 collection of all kinds of flowery, Valentiney goodness with shades of Blushing Bride, Rose Red, Crumb Cake and just a hint of Garden Green. I hope you liked my little watercolor hack today and thanks for stoppin' by!
Now that you've had a chance to check out the new Occasions Catalog and the Sale-a-Bration offerings for 2016, what do you think? Best Ever? Is your Wish List as long as mine? I have so many new sets that have not even seen ink yet but I am hoping to get them all inky before my Catalog Kick Off Party on Sunday!
The one set that has already seen more than it's fair share of ink is the "Have A Cuppa " bundle. I mentioned earlier in the week that this was my favorite from the beginning and I shared a card I whipped up for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch. (if you missed it you can see it HERE) Today I want to share another one of my favorites made with this set and the same stack of Have A Cuppa Designer Series Paper.
I am typically not a huge fan of Wisteria Wonder. It is a very grey purple and just not all that appealing IMHO. But, Stampin' Up! has proved me wrong again because the Have A Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack is filed with awesome patterns that make one of my least favorite SU colors look really good.
I thought this particular pattern needed a little pop of something which was easily remedied with my Wisteria Wonder Stampin Write Marker and the Brand New to Stampin' Up! Wink of Stella Glitter Pens. I have owned the Wink of Stella Markers in every color they are available in for a few years now and I was sooooo excited to see that Stampin' Up! is now carrying them in my two most used colors! Yeah! The clear can be used alone or over any of our inks to give your images a gorgeous glittery sheen without the mess. The gold is awesome too but you need the clear. Seriously. Right now. Don't believe me? Check this out....
I also pulled out one of my lease used accessories from the 2016/2016 Annual Catalog, the Itty Bitty Epoxy Accents Stickers. I have no idea why I do not use them more often because they really are awesome. They can be adhered to any of our Designer Series Papers or Cardstocks for a unique and perfectly color matched embellishment. No more hoarding. From now on these little buggers stay right out on my craft table.
The Have A Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack is filled with fun, whimsical images of tea cups and tea pots as well as some petite prints that coordinate beautifully with some of the bolder images. Just look at all these beautiful prints!
Is the Have a Cuppa stamp Set and matching Framelits Dies on your Wish List yet? Remember, during Sale-a-Bration you can choose a FREE item from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure with every $50 purchase!
The moment we wait for all year is finally here! Sale-a-Bration and the Occasions Catalog went live this morning. (yeah!) As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I have been able to order and play with all my new stampin' goodies since December 1st. There are so many fun new sets in both of these new collections it's really hard to pick a front runner. But I do have a favorite and it was my favorite from the moment I first opened the Occasions Catalog.
I hate coffee. I LOVE tea. And I am a total sucker for anything with tea or teapots. So it should come as no surprise that the first new stamp set for me was the "A Nice Cuppa' set. I love all the stamped images but I am totally in love with the matching dies. And the charms. And the matching Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack. I love it all.
This was a quick creation late last night for the first Mojo Monday Sketch of the year. It came together super quickly using the sketch and the Have a Cuppa DSP and I love how it turned out. (please forgive my shadowy photo, I busted a light bulb right before I took the pics!) Here is the sketch that inspired my card:
One of my favorite things about my new favorite set is that it is available as a bundle which will save you 15% on the purchase price of the stamp set and the matching "Cups & Kettle" Framelits Dies. Add the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper and the Have a Cuppa Embellishment Charms and you can choose a FREE Sale-a-Bration item too! It's a win/win!
Please click on any of the pics below for order information or please feel free to contact me with any questions. I can't wait to see what you create!
