It's been over a week since I pulled out my Hall-o-Ween Treats stamp set and this little guy was getting claustrophobic packed away in his little case. Time to let him out for some Halloween fun!
These colorful little guys each hold a Caramel Apple Blow Pop. Yum. Yes, I tried one. Or maybe two. You can get 6 of these little treat holders from one sheet of 8.5 x 11 card stock so they are super economical and quick and easy to make. That is if you don't eat all the Blow pops first. Just sayin'.
We made these Friday night at my October Stamp camp and they were a huge hit! I found the Caramel Apple Blow pops in a 4-pack at my local Dollar Tree and in a Halloween size bag at Target. I will tell you though that the Dollar Tree pops are about twice the size of the bagged pops. I did use the larger pops for my prototype so if you do use the bagged pops you may have to adjust the dimensions just a bit.
Would you like the directions? I knew you would!
- Cut strips of card stock 1 3/4" x 8 1/2"
- Score at 1/2" * 3 1/2" * 5" * and 8".
- Fold all score lines
- Match the two ends together and punch a center hole through both layers.
- Place a glue dot on the top of the lollipop
- Layer one punched end over the other and poke pop stick up through both holes
- Secure pop to base with Glue dot
- Decorate as desired.
I used a small scrap of Fright Night Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the front panel that was cut at 1 5/8" x 2 7/8". My owl is stamped in Crushed Curry ink with hats of various colors. The googlie eyes are a must IMO. The hat is adhered to the owls ears and secured right to the stick of the pop with a tiny glue dot. You could make a To/From tag for the back if these were going to be massed produced for a classroom.
I hope you enjoyed my little treats and thanks for stoppin' by!
