Did ya miss me? I have not forgotten all of you, my blogging friends, but sometimes the supermom in all of us just really needs a break. I have been stamping, and holding classes, working full time, contemplating my place and my future in my current job, running kids from here to there, and of course working on those #%*&@ taxes! Something just had to give.
So, I am sorry for my absence and since my #%*&@ taxes are still not done (yes, I am the worlds best procrastinator, 2nd only to my son Thomas...the apple didn't fall far from that tree now did it?) I can't promise there will not be another Blog hiatus in the near future while I try to beat the deadline. However, I do have an entire month's worth of projects to share so I will try to get a few posts ahead this weekend.
I know Easter is rapidly approaching, but the project I am sharing with you tonight is so quick and easy you can pump these out in no time and have a great little favor/place card for everyone at your Easter table.
Seriously, how cute are these? The smallest one would make a great place card for your Easter table. Instead of the Happy Easter on the label, hand write the name of your dinner guest! You can get four of these little guys out of ONE piece of 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper an they will hold 3 or 4 little chocolate eggs. (I prefer the Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs but that's just me)
The medium basket (shown above) is just a tad larger and will hold about 6 mini eggs or 2 to 3 larger ones. (like Cadbury or Dove Truffle eggs) The largest of the three will hold an assortment of goodies and is large enough to fit a plastic egg or two. It is a little flimsy though and honestly not as cute as the smaller two.
Want to know how to make them? First you need to start with a piece of Stampin' Up's exclusive, double sided Designer Series paper. All you need are 6 equal strips of paper for each basket. Now, I would love to tell you this was my original idea but it was not. There is a fabulous tutorial on YouTube posted by Monica over at GiddyGreetings.com. Click
HERE to view the video.
I did play around with the various sizes to come up with the three you see above. The directions stay the same, you will just need to adjust the size of your paper strips depending on the finished size. Here ya go...
For the Small Basket: Six strips that are 6 inches long by 3/4 of an inch wide
For the Medium Basket: Six strips that are 8 inches long by 1 inch wide
For the Large Basket: Six strips that are 10 inches long by 1 1/4 inch wide.
We are on the tail end of Spring Break here in SW FL so grab the kids, get cutting, and you can have them pump out enough of these little cuties for the entire congregation Sunday mornin'! Have fun and thanks for stoppin' by!
