Holiday Stamp a Stack!

Wow! Christmas cards done before Halloween! That is most definitely a first for me! My Holiday Stamp-a-Stack was this past Sunday. Here's a few pics of a fun day with friends, Christmas music, Christmas cookies, and Christmas STAMPS! What's better than that?

Sorry, It's been awhile....

I'm sorry I have been neglecting my Blog lately! My Christmas Stamp-A-Stack was TODAY and I have spent the last two weeks prepping and cutting card stock...I swear I saw smoke coming from my paper cutter! Okay, not really but it was a lot of cutting. We made 15 cards with matching envelopes, 3 each of 5 different designs times 20 women is 300 cards to cut! But, it was well worth it as a good time was had by all and we are well on our way to getting our Christmas cards completed and in the mail by Thanksgiving! (I really hope no one holds me to that statement as I will probably be scrambling the weekend before Christmas to get the last few put together and out the door as usual!)
Anyway, I will be back tomorrow with pictures from the SAS, the cards we made and a few other goodies too.

Tasteful Gift

I am waiting for the temperature to drop so I can get into fall mode, open the windows, let the cooler fresh air in and make a big batch of homemade chili and beer bread. Since it was 94 degrees in Naples today it looks like I will have to wait a little longer! We are supposed to get some relief this weekend though...it's going to dip down to a chilly high of 84!

Since my chili and beer bread will have to wait, I decided to dress up my beer bread and give it to a friend. The altered container is a beverage holder from Quiznos. If you have Quiznos in your area these boxes are great because there is no print on them so you can either cover them up or stamp directly on the box.

I decided to dress mine up a bit with the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! The front panel was stamped with the new Wandering Words set that is on page 16 of the Holiday Mini. Some retired Hodgepodge Hardware was added to wrap my Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain around my box. The Sizzix Leaves
# 2 Die was used to cover the corner panels.

If you have never tried this beer bread it is THE BOMB! All you do is mix the contents of the box with a 12 ounce bottle of beer and bake for 1 hour. That's it! (if you're not a beer drinker you can substitute any carbonated beverage) Easy peasy and you have fresh, homemade bread plus you get the added bonus of your house smelling great! Want to try it? Last Minute Christmas Tag Class October 16th & 17th!

This actually wasn't last minute but I have been sick and am so far behind with posting, e-mails, laundry, housework, stamping, etc. What started out as a little cough grew into a mild case of pneumonia and knocked me out for almost two weeks. UGH! It is way too early in the season to be getting sick, especially when it is still in the 90's here in Florida! (or maybe that's the problem...this heat is acting like an incubator for all these germs floating around!)

I have actually had this mini class on my calendar since the end of September but got sidetracked and never sent out the e-mail or posted it here or on my Meetup site. But, better late than never, right? It's too cute to pass up!

This is such a simple, fun Christmas project that you can use yourself or that would make a great Hostess gift for all those Holiday parties you will undoubtedly be attending! What Hostess wouldn't like to receive this cute box full of Christmas Tags as a gift?

You will create the divided box and 36 Christmas Tags, 6 each of 6 different tag designs and all for only $12! I will hold two classes back to back, one on Friday night and the other on Saturday morning so it will fit into your schedule. The Saturday class is open to young stampers as long as mom comes too to help them out.

Thoughts & Prayers Best Wishes

I LOVE this card! This is a variation of one of Friday nights Stamp Camp projects. The Friday night version was a standard card size but this image really works well in a square.
It all came about by wanting to show my campers another use for the Ornament Punch beyond the holidays. Just punch, cut off the tip, and a vase magically appears! (seriously, how cool is that?) The Night & Day Designer Series Paper is so pretty and elegant it was the perfect choice for my vase. I love the black & white with just a touch of color added for a "pop" factor.
I inked up the floral branch from the Thoughts & Prayers set with my Basic Black & Pixie Pink Stampin Write Markers, added a simple sentiment and ta-da...easy, quick, elegant card that will work for any occasion by simply changing out the sentiment. (makes a beautiful Sympathy or Thank You card as well!)

Gingersnap Dip

I created this 6x6 Halloween Recipe Card for a swap last year. All of the images used to create this page have since been retired but the reason I am posting now is because I served this for Stamp Camp on Friday night and have had several people ask me for the recipe. So, other than to tell you that I used Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie Card Stock, I'll just tell you how to make this yummy, super simple, fall treat!

1, 8 oz package Cream Cheese
1 Cup Confectioners Sugar
2 Tsp Pumpkin Pie spice
1, 8 oz carton Frozen Whipped Topping (thawed)
1, 16 oz package Gingersnaps

In a small mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar and pumpkin pie spice. Beat in Whipped topping until blended. refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with gingersnaps.

Grown Up Halloween Treats!

It all started with these test tube shooters. I had bought them for a girlfriends 40th Birthday party in July and had 4 leftover. (I know, leftover shots from a 40th Birthday party?) When I saw Lisa Sommerville's template for her Test Tube Candy Holder HERE a light bulb went off to adapt her template for Halloween and my little green Melon Ball Shooters. Only problem was, I couldn't find the test tube shooters again. After calling every liquor store in 2 counties I finally found them and one of my all time favorite Stamp Camp projects was born. Once the test tube holders were put together with my Cast a Spell Designer Series Paper the matching card came together fairly quickly. I love my Cheers to You set but it has been collecting dust lately. This was the perfect opportunity to dust it off and ink it up to match my Melon Ball Shooters. The Happy Halloween sentiment is from the House of Haunts set and the tag around the test tube is from the Holiday Mini set Grateful Greetings. It is hard to see in the photo but the sentiment is "May your Halloween Night be Filled with Delight"!
The cocktails were colored in with Stampin Write Markers and finished off with Crystal Effects for some shine and dimension although that doesn't show up real well in the photo either.
Here in Florida, at least in my neighborhood, Halloween is a huge event. Because it is still light out and the temperature is still in the 80's everyone moves their grills and lanai furniture out into the driveway on Halloween night and my neighborhood becomes one HUGE tailgate party. I was never a big Halloween fan but I have been converted since moving to Florida from New England. I will be making many more of these to hand out to my neighbors on Halloween night!
