Recipe Stand Class

I held a class on Sunday where we made these adorable Recipe Stands just in time for Mothers Day! My class participants created a cover page like the one shown plus six 6x6 blank recipe pages to add their favorite recipes to later using their choice of Stampin' Up's exclusive Designer Series paper. There was enough materials in their class packets to create another 6 recipe cards on their own. I will share the other pages in the next few days so stay tuned!
I do have a few additional recipe stands on order and will be able to offer class kits to create one of these beauties on your own! Details to follow shortly or feel free to e-mail me for more information.

Recipe Stand Class Page 1

Sunday's class participants were given their choice of the following three Designer Series Papers to create their Recipe Stands:

• Raspberry Tart
• Washington Apple
• Good Morning Sunshine

This is the first of six recipe cards that we made in class. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's "From the Kitchen Of" stamp set. The sentiment was punched with the Small Oval Punch and then layered with contrasting CS using the Large Oval and NEW Scallop Oval Punches. (from the Fabulous new Occasions Mini) We used the Tearing Edge tool to create the diagonal jagged edge on the DSP. The Photo Corners Punch was used to create the photo anchors.

I had 13 stampers in the class and for once I
remembered my camera...only problem is I
completely forgot to take any photos during class!
One of these days I will get it all together!

Just Beachy

Just Beachy...
I LOVE this set! How cute is this? This is a 12x12 page that I did with my Stampers 6 group. I am not a huge fan of Pacific Point Blue And Tangerine Tango (a little bright for my normal taste) but they work great with this set. They are so bright and cheery and perfect for these Water Park Pics I had of my youngest son, Christopher.

It's been a rough night...

Our beloved family pet "Fenway" passed away this evening. He was still a baby...just a few weeks away from his 4th birthday. We are not sure what happened, the ER vet seems to think it was a pre-existing condition, most likely congestive heart failure. He was fine one minute and panting and gasping for air the next.
My children are crushed. My youngest son Christopher has been crying for the last few hours. I have no idea how we will get him to bed tonight as the cat would sit at the base of the ladder to his bunk bed when Chris went to bed until someone picked him up and put him up on the top bunk to sleep with him. My middle son Thomas is trying to be tough but I think it will hit him hard as the days pass without him around. Wherever the boys were, Fenway was not far behind. My oldest Ben is away at college but was home for the Easter weekend. I had to call him at school tonight. I think he will miss him the most. He was the first thing Ben looked for whenever he came home from school.
I have never really been a "cat" person but this guy was by far the best pet we have ever had. I will miss him terribly.

Did you miss me?

I know I have been MIA for the last two weeks, please forgive me. My absence started out as a mad dash to finish my new Stampin and Scrappin room. Pictures will follow shortly but for those of you who have been at this hobby (read obsession) for awhile I know you will understand when I tell you I have been "purging" and refused to put anything back in my new room that was not going to stay. It was a much longer process than anticipated. There are still finishing touches to be done but I am holding out for the time being. Mostly because I want to work and play in my new space before I make decisions on the placement of some things and make any new holes in my new walls just for me to change my mind. I am THRILLED with the way it turned out (thanks to my husband, Jeff) and can't wait to start creating again.
Then there is the tax thing. Can we just skip over that part? It is simply too depressing to discuss.
Finally, I had planned to get back among the Blogging this past week as I had my Stampers 6 group, Stamp Camp, a Meetup group meeting and lots of things to share. Then I made the mistake of getting the movie Twilight. I never read the books, never saw the movie, and not being terribly into vampires I couldn't understand what all the hype was about. Big mistake. I have read the 4 books in the last 5 days (all 2560 pages) I am totally enthralled. I stopped reading the Harry Potter series when Cedric Diggory was killed off and here he is resurrected as Edward Cullen. (actor, Rob Pattinson) Life is good.
